How To Port Forwarding?

Port is an internet protocol suite and the endpoint of the operating system. It is used for data/packet exchanging via any service/program device. A port is always associated with an IP address of host and protocol type of the communication. A port is identified for each address and protocol by a 16-bit number, commonly known as Port Number.
Some application is associated with the port number from 0 to 65535 on which service is listening for incoming packets of data. There are 3 types of ports:-
1.) Well known Ports Range from 0-1023
2.) Registered Ports Range from 1024-49151
3.) Dynamic/Private Ports Range from 49152-65535
The well-known ports are also known as system ports. Some of these includes are-
21: FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
22: SSH (Secure Shell)
23: Telnet remote login service
25: SMTP (Simple mail transfer protocol)
53: DNS (Domain name system)
80: HTTP (Hypertext transfer protocol)
110: POP3 (Post office protocol)
119: NNTP (Network news transfer protocol)
123: NTP (Network time protocol)
143: IMAP (Internet message access protocol)
161: SNMP (Simple network management protocol)
194: IRC (Internet relay chat)
443: HTTPS (Hypertext transfer protocol secure)

What is Port Forwarding?
Port Forwarding is a process which provides us the communication between a service, private company with your local system. Port Forwarding/Mapping is an application of NAT (Network Address Translating) which redirects the packets of information to a particular address. By the use of this service, you can access your computer from anywhere. and you also access your home CCTV camera by this port forwarding. It is the best application to keep unwanted data away from your system.
Suppose, You want to receive data from a particular system, if you don’t do port forward in your system then you receive that data. If you hack someone’s device then you must have to do port forwarding in your system to receive that data otherwise you don’t get that data.
From the above image, you can understand that what is a firewall. Firewall is a wall which protects your local area from the unwanted viruses, malware, and unwanted connections etc. So, after doing port forwarding It creates a tunnel in your firewall and from which tunnel you can accept all necessary data from other networks.
How To Do Port Forwarding?
Firstly, you know the IP address of your router by typing ipconfig command in your command prompt.
Then you must have to fix the IP address of your computer so that the upcoming packets are received to that computer only. So, Go to the control panel and select network and sharing Option . and then click on Change adapter setting which is present on the top left side menu. Then select your Wi-Fi adapter. and right click on that and select properties option.
Then select Internet Protocol version 4 option and click on properties.
Here, type the IP address which you want to give to your system. and in the Preferred DNS option type your router IP address.
After completing this go to your browser and type your router IP address and click on search. This will ask you the username and password of your router. In case you don’t know the username and password then simply search username and password in google by typing your router company’s name and username and password then Google shows you the username and password of your Router.
Go to forwarding option and in this option select Virtual Server option. Here, just click on add new option to add a new port.
Here fill the details of the port you want to open and the IP address in which you want to receive the data.
