Punjab National Bank ATM Hacked: The Punjab National Bank ATMs had a significant security vulnerability. Rather than the transaction screen, Popular Game Hill Climb Racing was displayed on the ATM’s screen. According to researchers, the computers were running the Windows operating system, and the attackers may have attacked using the skimmer method, which is rather common these days.
This Reddit user’s post addresses the matter.
The victim claimed that our college ATM offered hill climb racing, and she shared a video of collage ATMs competing in hill climb racing on their screens.
Comments on the video stated that Windows was the operating system used in this instance.

How Did the Hackers Managed to Do it
It is still unclear how they managed it at the movement.
Director of Cryptus Cyber Security Pvt Ltd Prabesh Choudhary stated:
Hackers may have used the skimmer trick in this PNB HACK as it is most widely used technique in the recent days. Anybody can be the victim of this technique because hackers place the fake card terminal in place of original one.”
Your card’s magnetic strip contains all the information needed to finish a transaction. In order for the card reader you plan to utilise to read that information when you use your card, the skimmer passes over it. The skimmer has two options: it can send the data or store it for further collection.
This means that your card could be used in a “card number only” transaction by someone skimming it. If they also manage to obtain your PIN, their chances of success may increase. Now let us revisit this.
In order to duplicate the card, the setup aims to record the data contained in the magnetic stripe as it enters and exits the machine.A camera aimed at recording the keypad is one common method used to try and record the PIN as well.
