The Bug Bounty Hunters Have Good News. In an effort to recover the $234 million in digital assets lost in a recent cyber breach, crypto platform WazirX has started a Bug Bounty program.
According to WazirX, the bounty will pay out 10% of the money that is recovered, provided that recovery and verification are completed successfully. The company stated, “This can potentially total $23 million, making it one of the biggest rewards ever provided in the crypto sector.”
WazirX said on x ” We are launching a bounty programme to recover the stolen assets in reaction to the recent cyberattack on one of our multisig wallets. The community is kindly invited to take part in:
First bounty: Track & Freeze, which pays out up to $10,000 USDT for actionable intelligence that results in the money being frozen.
Bounty 2: White Hat Recovery offers a 5% incentive as a white hat reward on the amount recovered.
They Reposted claiming to increase the reward upto 10% on @zachxbt’s feedback (Scam survivor turned 2D investigator).
The founder of WazirX, Nischal Shetty, highlighted the seriousness of the incident by stating, “Recovering the stolen monies is our top priority. The goal of this bounty scheme is to accomplish this important goal by utilising the community’s knowledge.” The initiative will run for three months.
Objective of threat hunting
Bounty 1: Track & Freeze the Amount
- The goal is to locate, monitor, and offer useful information that will enable funds that have been stolen to be frozen.
- Reward: For actionable intelligence that results in the freezing of the money, rewards in the amount of up to $10,000 USDT will be granted. In the event that the participant is unable to freeze the funds on their own, they should work with WazirX by supplying enough evidence to make the procedure easier. The participant will not be eligible for any awards if they are unable to freeze themselves or if they are unable to work with WazirX to enable the freezing of the cash. The Participant will not be eligible for any awards if funds are not frozen as a result of non-actionable information being provided.
Bounty 2: White Hat Recovery
- Goal: Assist in getting the stolen money back.
- 10% of the money collected as a white hat incentive is the reward. Only if WazirX has successfully received the stolen money will this reward be awarded. At WazirX’s exclusive discretion, the aforementioned awards may be paid in USDT or in the form of money that has been recovered.
